There is no secret Turmeric is one of our all time favourite super foods and something Rachel religiously uses on a daily basis. As you know we have shared with you ways to incorporate Turmeric into your diet, but this powerful spice can also work wonders on your skin!

Turmeric Skin Benefits

 

Anti-Bacterial Agent: The spice offers lots of antibacterial agents and is frequently used to heal small cuts burn and also keep bacterial infections at bay.

 

Anti-Inflammation Agent: One of main remedies Turmeric is used is its ability to reduce inflammations. For this reason it’s believed to treat skin conditions such as eczema, acne, dry skin and psoriasis.

 

Anti-aging: When you combine Turmeric, milk and flour into a paste it works as an excellent skin exfoliator, which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and leaves your skin looking more youthful and gives it a healthy glow.

 

Improves Skin’s Elasticity: The turmeric mask aids by making your skin look younger and feel fresher. This is due to the powerful antioxidants the spice contains. By stimulating new cell growth it boosts and maintains your skins elasticity.

 

Lightens Pigmentation: The Turmeric spice is believed to improve pigmentation and also even out your skin tone.
 

DIY TURMERIC BEAUTY MASK

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons of flour (Almond meal, rice flour or ground oats)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric
  • 4 Tablespoons of Milk
  • ½ Teaspoon of raw honey.
  •  

Instructions:

 

  • Mix all the ingredients into a bowl.
  • Apply evenly all over your face (should be a thin layer). Keep the mask on for 20 minutes.
  • Wash the mask off with warm water.
  • Apply hydrating moisturizer.
