DIY: Homemade Salt Scrub Recipe for Face, Hands, Feet & Body
Ramya says -I tried this homemade sea salt scrub recipe last week and fell in love with it.
This home made sea salt and mixed herbs exfoliating scrub is one good example, of how home made things made with simple ingredients can be much more effective than store bought ones.
Salt scrubs are natural body purifiers, as the salt removes the toxins from the blocked pores. This scrub also improves circulation, tightens the skin and improve the skin texture dramatically, if used regularly. The sea salt in this salt scrub recipe exfoliates the skin beautifully, leaving it petal smooth and can be used on face, hands, feet and even the whole body. This salt scrub can be used by both men and women. When I tried salt scrub for the first time, I just used it without grinding the salt and I felt my skin turning red and burning because the salt crystals were coarse. The second time I ground it finely with my mortar and pestle and I really loved the feel of it on my skin. Olive oil in the scrub conditions the skin well and leaves it petal smooth. I added all my dried favorite herbs to the scrub, which made it even better.
Use this scrub once in a week, not more than that.
To make this scrub, take sea salt in a mortar and pestle and grind it finely. Now add extra virgin olive oil and mix it well. Add your favorite dried herbs and grind everything together till everything is mixed well. If you like you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil too. Try any one of the relaxing essential oils like lavender, rose, sandalwood, patchouli etc.
This scrub stores well, if you keep it away from moisture. As this scrub exfoliates the skin, make sure to apply a moisturizer after your bath.
